Based in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, Ireland, Thelgan Embroidery was built on family, creativity, and a big leap of faith.
I’m a mum of five, and before starting this business, I worked as a business manager. While I loved the fast pace and responsibility, I knew I wanted to be more present for my children — school runs, match days, homework chats, and all the little moments in between.
So I took a chance.
I turned my sitting room into a full-on embroidery work zone (yes — threads, machines, samples, the lot!) and started building something that would allow me to combine business experience with creativity — while being at home with my family.
And that’s how Thelgan Embroidery was born.
The name Thelgan is especially close to my heart — it’s made up of the initials of all five of my children, along with mine and my husband’s. This business truly represents our family, and every order that goes out carries that same care and pride.
